Sage Lounge opened this week at 12th and Howard… Gonna have to go check it out.  Looks like they’re open every day from 6am-10pm.. awesome.

Is it a coffee shop, soup and sandwich lunch spot or SOMA’s newest nightlife destination? Sage Lounge opened it’s doors this morning and while it isn’t a nightlife destination yet, the owner tells us that he already has his entertainment permit and has plans to have DJ’s and bands perform at the spot once the alcohol permits are in place. Sage is a nice shiny new spot in a fairly quiet corner of Southern SOMA (corner of 12th and Howard). The menu is a simple offering of very moderately priced ($5-8) sandwiches, soups and salads and the taps for the moment serve up fine italian coffee and espresso’s. The space is the old SOMA Cafe for those familiar with the neighborhood but the interior has been completely redone and a giant wall that used to separate the front from the back has been blown out to expose a surprisingly large open room.

Get Wize: Sage Lounge is open from 6am - 10pm daily and has lots of baked goods, fancy iced teas and juices and a great little lunch menu. Call ahead with your order (check out the online menu) to avoid a long wait.
